Legal & Policies

Studio Policies

Please read these policies carefully before booking an appointment or placing an order with Crown of Coils Natural Hair Studio.

Last updated: September 2026

These terms govern all appointments booked with Crown of Coils Natural Hair Studio ("the Studio"), operated by Marissa Mendez, located at Pointe-a-Pierre Road (opposite Royal Castle, upstairs Wazir's Pharmacy), Trinidad & Tobago. By booking an appointment—whether online, via WhatsApp, or in person—you agree to the terms set out below.

1. Consultation Requirement

All first-time loc service clients must complete a paid Consultation ($200 TTD) before any loc install, reconstruction, or specialist treatment can be scheduled. The consultation is non-refundable and is applied as a deposit toward your first booked service where applicable.

2. Appointment Deposits

A $200 TTD non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all loc install, loc reconstruction, loc extension, and class bookings. This deposit secures your time slot and is applied toward your total service cost. Deposits are forfeited if:

  • You cancel fewer than 48 hours before your appointment.
  • You do not attend your appointment without prior notice (no-show).
  • You reschedule more than once for the same service.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • 48+ hours notice: Full deposit credit applied to your rescheduled appointment. No penalty.
  • 24–48 hours notice: Deposit retained; a rebooking fee of $100 TTD applies for the new appointment.
  • Less than 24 hours / no-show: Deposit forfeited in full. A new deposit is required to rebook.

To cancel or reschedule, contact us at WhatsApp 1-868-322-0867 or call directly during business hours.

4. Late Arrival Policy

We accommodate a grace period of 15 minutes past your scheduled appointment time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late:

  • Your appointment may be shortened or rescheduled at the Studio's discretion.
  • Rescheduling due to late arrival is treated as a same-day cancellation; the deposit is retained.
  • Complex services (loc installs, loc extensions, classes) may not be completed if the available time is insufficient, and a new appointment will be required.

5. Studio Rules & Client Conduct

  • Please arrive with clean, detangled hair unless a pre-service treatment has been booked.
  • Children accompanying clients must be supervised at all times. For safety, children are not permitted to roam unattended in the studio.
  • Additional guests should be kept to a minimum. The Studio reserves the right to limit the number of visitors during a service.
  • The Studio is a professional environment; disrespectful or abusive behaviour toward staff will result in immediate termination of service and a ban from future bookings. No refund will be issued in such cases.
  • Crown of Coils is not responsible for personal belongings left unattended in the Studio.

6. Service Results & Revisions

Crown of Coils aims to deliver results consistent with the style agreed upon during consultation. Results may vary based on natural hair texture, density, condition, and previous chemical or heat treatments. If you are dissatisfied with your service, you must notify the Studio within 48 hours of your appointment. The Studio will assess and, where reasonable, offer a complimentary adjustment at a mutually agreed time. Revision requests made after 48 hours, or requests for a full refund for a completed service, will not be honoured.

7. Health & Safety

Clients must disclose any known scalp conditions, allergies, or sensitivities prior to services. Crown of Coils reserves the right to decline service if a scalp condition is observed that may be worsened by treatment. This is not discrimination—it is our duty of care to your health.

8. Classes (Loc & Braid)

  • Class fees are non-refundable once materials have been prepared.
  • If Crown of Coils cancels a class, all participants receive a full credit or refund.
  • Class certificates or completion documents, where issued, remain the intellectual property of Crown of Coils.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable local law and, where necessary, through the Magistrates' Court of Trinidad and Tobago.
